Sketches from the Top of the Hills: A Music Documentary About Life, Songs and Landour

There are places that quietly shape the way you see the world and influence the way you practise your craft. Sketches from the Top of the Hills is an attempt to bring those two things together. I'm really happy to finally share that the film is now out.
Presented as a visual EP in the form of a music documentary, the film follows my life as a musician in Landour. Through songs, conversations and everyday moments, it offers a glimpse into the creative process and explores how living in the mountains has shaped both my music and my perspective on life.
Filmed by The Give Up Sessions, the documentary is less about performances and more about everything that happens between them. Walks through the forest. Recording sessions at home. Quiet conversations. The small moments that slowly find their way into a song. I hope it gives you a little window into the world behind the music.
Directed by Romil of The Give Up Sessions, with cinematography by Aman Singh, the film blends live performances with intimate moments from daily life to tell the story behind the songs.

A Special Screening in Landour
I'm honoured that Sketches from the Top of the Hills will be presented as part of the 90th Landour Lecture Series on 25 July at 6:30 PM at Ivy Bank, Landour.
The evening will include a screening of the film followed by a conversation about the making of the documentary, the creative process, and the stories behind the songs.
The Landour Lecture Series, organised by the Mussoorie Heritage Centre, has become one of Landour's most loved community platforms, bringing together writers, historians, artists, musicians, conservationists and storytellers from around the world. It exists to encourage dialogue, celebrate local culture and create space for meaningful conversations.
To share this film in the very place where it was made feels incredibly special.

Live in Dehradun with Abdon Mech and Frizzell D'Souza
A week later, on 1 August, I'll be opening for singer-songwriters Abdon Mech and Frizzell D'Souza during their From Our Corners India Tour at Vishranti Hotel, Dehradun.
I've admired the honesty in both of their songwriting for a long time, so it's a real pleasure to be part of this evening. I'll be sharing songs from the film alongside a few others that have travelled with me over the years. If you're in Dehradun, I'd love to see you there.
