By the Ocean

I recorded a bunch of songs, some jams, and a few reflections by the ocean during my last visit to Kerala, in Kochi.

I was in Kochi recording with Vivek Thomas, and we worked on some nice tunes that I’ll be sharing later in the year. I was also there for a Sofar Kochi gig, and reached out to Rahul Rajeev to help capture parts of the visit and the performance.

Rahul brought along Soorya, Midhun, and Harrods, and we ended up planning a full day around a beautiful spot just outside Kochi. We shot quite a bit there, and that little stretch of time has now come together as something I’ve been calling By the Ocean.
It was amazing to play at that spot, especially at sunrise. On one side, the fishermen community was preparing for the day, and on the other, the vast ocean. It felt quite surreal.
We picked a few songs, and I ended up playing Kaisey a couple of times, which came together really nicely. One thing I’ve realised about myself is that I tend to absorb the energy of a place and carry that into my performance. It felt special to play a song that took shape in the hills, in a completely different natural setting by the sea.
I’ll be in Bangalore for a gig on 18 April 2026. If you’re around, I’d love for you to come by. I’ll be playing a mix of older songs and some newer ones as well. More details here
