Sketches from the Top of the Hills - 28 Feb 2026

Sketches from the Top of the Hills is a music documentary and an EP featuring a collection of live songs that were filmed at my residence in Landour. The film was put together by Romil and Aman Singh. Romil, who directed and handled the sound, along with Aman, the cinematographer, spent time with me here on the hillside last year during the monsoon months. Having witnessed the seasons and the beauty of the hills, and with no real vision to begin with, I’m sure they were quite struck by the natural surroundings that I keep talking about all the time.

We didn’t really have a solid plan at first, apart from me wanting them to come spend time with me and record some of the music I was working on in my natural surroundings. I think that’s what makes this film feel real and organic. By the end of that weekend, it felt like the best way to present both the songs and my life here. I remember the first day was mostly walking around what I consider my backyard, wandering through trails and slowly sharing these surroundings with them.

We’re all quite excited about the film, which comes out on 28 Feb. Having worked with both of them earlier at Sofar Patna, where Romil is the main curator, I knew the strengths of my friends and trusted them completely. I truly feel everything has been captured beautifully. It’s a small window into my life, just a weekend from last year. I’d love for you to join us for the release on the 28th.
